Someone just mentioned costco on another thread which reminded me about the fact that a costco member can get fuel at some of their warehouses eg currently some are 10p per litre cheaper than the cheapest near me. So, i'd save a tenner per fill up and only need 3 to effectively negate the years membership.

OK, no costco right near me but like lpg stations theres plenty en route to destinations.

However, is it actually any good for anything else at all? any members here that would recommend etc?

If you are happy to buy what are almost bulk quantities (for a household) then it can be very good.

We buy their own brand toilet rolls, named brand laundry products, cleaning products and toiletries. Feel we easily get our value out of membership.

Own brand products tend to be good value as better quality than some others. However UK branded products not cheaper than supermarket brands. Everything in bulk buy so things like meat and other fresh goods like fruit, no good for us. I buy nuts and dried fruit, baking materials and so on. Things that can be stored. Toys and books very cheap and good for presents. You can get things there you do not see elsewhere. Having said all that, two or three times a year is enough visits for me. We pass by for fuel though when going south.

Yeah, I don't think I'd be doing a lot of food shopping there to be honest but might be worth trying for a year for the fuel and then just keeping an eye on any possible bargains?

Definately worth it. The fuel price is always good value compared to surrounding fuel stations, even the supermarkets cannot compete easily with them.
Have bought Michelin tyres for the van from them. Good price and excellent service from the fitters.
We order a few times a year via the online service which has a £5.99 delivery charge, but this covers the whole order even when there are 6 or 8 boxes , and some of the products come through different couriers. Great service.
Remember to go by the including VAT price.

It’s really not that kind of shopping, l know that sounds odd but when you go with the intension of looking for a bargain and a probable budget of say £100 you will spend £400 in a breath if indeed you have it.There are so many items that you all of a sudden need.
No Credit Cards though, Debit or Cash only.

Manchester branch diesel £1.69 at the moment as for other stuff it is all good quality and I agree with Langtoftlad says their meat is great, including the bacon , would certainly recommend taking a membership .

We did a calculation on the fuel savings. It depends whether you are travelling further to fill up cheaper than your local fuel station. It works out a saving for us, but not other family members who live further from Costco.

As someone has said they are cheap on some things but not all, you need to be price savvy....if you buy primark Jean's and aldi whisky then it can seem very expensive
The odd thing for me is the change over the last decade, they used to let anyone in to look but not allowed to buy...now you have to be a member just to get in the door so you have to join before you see what they have to offer 🤷‍♂️
I've always been a bulk buyer, my mums fault 🤣, so some of it suits me 👍

Michelin camper tyres tend to be very cheap
I'm thinking of changing all my tyres in a few months, whats the price of the Michelin tyres at Costco?

We rejoined again this year at the Great Yorkshire show, mainly for the fuel as although ours nearest is 20 miles away we fill up the van on the way home from being away, and last month used the one just before the Dartford crossing to top up before dropping into Abbey Wood.
