Can anyone explain why we can all buy a compressor cool box that will cool down to -20 degrees at only very low amps, for little cost £250-800 for a rebadged product, why do manufacturers fit out dated Dometic problematic absorption fridge at three or four times the cost?
Now lithium is about it seems a bit of a step backward. ?

I think change is on the way, but customers need time. Especially old folk that don't like change 😊

i followed your compressor conversion and was well impressed Richard, I think there is a market for a turn key kit to do this, but some knowledge would be needed to complete such a task👍

Is that £200 aimed at my very impressive low cost, high performance aquasiton...

I think it's just a matter of time, as lithium becomes standard on new vans. Not long ago you never had vans with a solar panel and now many manufacturers fit one as standard.

Ha ha no Steve I only included ones over £250 with Bluetooth and chill facilities, but you may win me over if you supply the group withe ice cold beer over the summer 🍻

I'd encourage anybody to have a go, there's nothing really difficult about it. The only thing I was slightly apprehensive about was the pipe connection but it turned out really foolproof.

The supplied thermostat is crap, it just needs replaced with a standard domestic VT9 or equivalent, there are thousands on ebay for about £5 👍

Ive bought an Alpicool TW35 compressor fridge freezer for my VW T6.1 it runs off 240v, 12v, or solar panel and has it’s own built in lithium battery which will run it up to 10 hrs.

John.
