Comfort renewal gone up £30

Just got my renewal notice through from Comfort and it’s gone up by just over £30.
Think I might have a shop around.
I expected an increase due to inflation but it’s the one year whereby I’ve done the least mileage ever (only been out in it once) and it’s the biggest price increase.
 
Just had quote from AIB and like for like they quoted £124 more than Comfort!

The theft risk has probably gone up and that may well be a bigger component than the driving risk.
 
try lifesure, they came back with a price nearly half of my previous policy with nfu. cover is with ageas, so not an unknown company as seen on compare the market etc. I asked loads of questions, all answered fast with what I needed like unlimited windscreen cover and motorhome specific policy

to make up for the £25 they gave us back due to covid.
 
Typical of the profiteering mindset of British businesses. Must have been the year where claims have been at there lowest in recent memory and government paying most people's wages.
Has my pension increased by £30 - nowhere near.
Just wait until 1st Jan when all the supermarkets start upping the price of everything.
 
This is our first year with a M/ Home and went with Safeguard....... also the year I have had Cancer treatment........ my wife has phoned this company several times with related issues and always comes off the phone commenting on how nice and helpful the people are.
O.K. it what you should expect, but, it just doesn't happen now a days...... so we won't be changing !!! Especially when you consider that the majority of owners are not youngsters and normally need some help from them.
 
Is that all ?

not had my 2021 update yet but earlier this year when I renewed did the usual search and had quotes from other companies (RAC, NFU, AIB and some names ) they were all from 60% to 120% more than Comfort and some did no offer the level of service being offered by them

Just checked their motorhome policy booklet and the windscreen cover is only £1000.
 
Would not wish this on anyone but having two vehicles stolen the Motorhome insurance went from around £450 to £3500. I managed to get that down to £1400 with Adrian flux but just annoys me that when you are victims of crime you pay and pay again !

All I can do is quote the conversation I had with them
 
Comfort have changed underwriters so all of their policies have gone up, we therefore changed to A-Plan (Motor Direct) which gave comparable cover (including unlimited windscreen) quite a bit cheaper.
 
I paid my renewal last Thursday with Comfort and my premium was 88 pence cheaper than last year, as I had the van repatriated back in March from France I was expecting a hike in the premium.
 
Just had my renewal quote from Caravanguard, gone up from £380 to £470, no claims etc. Tried Shield, they quoted £240 PER MONTH!!!! £2280 pa!
will keep trying around, generally cheaper to include breakdown with the policy.
