Hi Guys,
Sorry i posted in another thread and dont know how to move it.

I am with CMC and use the cl network ok.
Now thinking about CCC and cs sites.

My question is how many sites do they have and are they worth it.?
I have visions of fields full of tents which wouldnt be that suitable.

Any comments ?

I think they are limited to 5 vans the same as the CMHC?

Temporary Holiday Sites can be big but they are often in great locations.

The CS network is just the same as the CL's really . They are restricted to 5 units up to 28 days, be they tent motorhome or caravan. You usually get a mix of units but usually more motorhomes and caravans.

We use both, generally not much difference but one CS had 5 pitches in one area and tents in another seperate area across a drive with 2 hedges seperating the areas. Some CL's seem to just be slightly seperated from slightly larger sites, so are not a CL as you would think.

No, the limit is 5 Motorhomes or caravans and up to 10 tents. More tents may be allowed with permission of the licencing body (C&CC etc.)

In practice you don't get many tents due to lack of facilities.

C&MC CL's have a lot more sites with EHU and often the charges are nearly as high as commercial sites. IMO it defeats the object of a CL.

I prefer C&CC because of the tents. The occupants are, on average, much friendlier than the caravanners! (I've been to them as a tugger and tentist as well as with motorhomes...)

to answer the question, both big club have hundreds of CL or CS sites. The c&cc ones tend to be less formal and far nicer in my view. Have stayed on CS sites that vary from the corner of a farm yard to a field, all the way through to mini sites behind pubs

My experience is that there are way more CLs than CSs, although I think there’s some regional variation in this - when I said as much once in a discussion someone replied that in their area there were more CSs.

We’re no longer members of CCC (due to their site pricing policy) so I’m not up to date with CS prices, but it certainly feels as though CMC CLs are shooting up in price. 10 years ago there were loads charging well under £10, but now it feels like £15 is a start point. Surely the “club” couldn’t be trying to avoid CLs undercutting site prices??
