I'm looking to buy some, but the choice is bewildering and the price range vast...

Any suggestions? Not bottom end, but reasonable..

What about some vintage good quality ones.
I’ve got various chisels and planes to sell.

I would think like most tools, buy the best you can afford. I bought my Snap on panel hammer in 1976. It cost me £50 yeah £50 for a hammer but I still have it and haven’t even had to replace the shaft. The face isn’t marked and it still feels balanced in my hand.
Tools are one thing I don’t mind spending on.

Hi Dave you won't go wrong with either Stanley or Marples👍 Stanley black handles or blue are same chisel (metal ) but the black have chromed blades so are dearer. No idea on price these days mine were all bought from age of 15 to 20 ish, almost 50 yrs ago and still all in very good condition. I have bought all sorts of cheap chisel's to get odd jobs done when I did not have mine with me and end up using them for cutting through odd nails/screw's then throwing in box for the next nails 😀
I have a couple of sets of each 👍 bought in the days when men used to pull up on building site's open up the boot full of Stanley tools 👍😀 Think Blue were a fiver for set office and blacks were 6 quid a set of 4 and _2 for a inch and half 👍👍👍

Marples are good chisels if you get the ones you can use with a hammer.
They are designed to be used that way 👍

I’ve got an old set of Footprint chisels, very robust and earned me a few quid 😊
