thinking of fitting a deisel heater under the van as a second heating source as i have some heatin trunking running under the van would it be feasable to stab in to one of those and feed back through the truma plenum and feed all existing outlets i would fit a return air duct into the cabin as well so i wasnt heating the world im hopping this would also give us an extra outlet whem the truma was on as we could do with another at the front

What’s wrong with the heating you already have

we only have one gas bottle and on site for winter we had to move off weekly to get gas i know we could back feed from bbq or carry a second bottle but cost and weight wise the diesel heater seems a better option and if it could give us extra heat in the front that would be a bonus

Sounds like a damn good idea to me I don't like relying on Gas for the heating, will you tap into your diesel tank or run a separate tank?

If you do and visit France much you can run it on cleaner burning paraffin (less sooting of the burner) with no adjustments, in France there are pumps at the forecourt its called Petrole and is cheaper than diesel.

i cant see the point of a seperate tank other than cost of fuel and since we are talking pennies to run the inconvenience of filling a seperate tank out weighs the cost

There is another Funster that fits this type of heater for a living and so is perhaps biased :) but they sound a great idea. Chinese ones have been dismantled and look pretty similar inside as they often do when reversed engineered. @machzoneman was the user name but not sure if still on here ?
