Usually when we go away to events we make sure that we have stocked the fridge with food.

Then we go and buy all the tempting goodies from the bakery stalls, farmers market stalls, cheese stalls, etc and end up going home with most of what we’d originally stocked the fridge with!

Will we make the same mistake again?

Should we arrive with only the bare minimum and then fill our boots (fridge) with an assortment of delights from the food festival?

What do most folks do?

Ian

Circumstances mean we are not going to camp this year, but you will not get anything on the Thursday and Friday as the festival only opens Saturday.
It depends if you are going to do a Chester walk about, loads of pubs that do food and other food outlets, unless you are going to avoid them.
We usually had at least two meals in or from the food festival, and at least one from a pub and invariably ended up taking home food we had brought with us to eat.
We may not be most folk, if you know what I mean.

Lots of good cheese, pickles, bread, meat, and pies.
From what I can remember.
Plus the fast food options are pretty good.
Plus Chester has lots of pubs or try porta restaurant for nice Spanish tapas just up past the cathedral before the city walls.

Lots of different wines and pickles and cheeses at the show ..... I don't buy food there as I can't afford the high prices, but you are a VERY short walk to the beautiful shops in Chester, and their food market .... don't worry about stocking up. The food market in town has a BRILLIANT cheese stall... toffee vodka cheese type of stuff as well as the norm.
