Hi all,

We have an electrical problem on our recently obtained flash 514, 2017 model.

We got the motorhome in lieu of a debt, so we have no knowledge of the history of the vehicle.

It may well have been stood since October/November last year.

We have no habitation power either via battery, or mains.

The electronic control panel won't switch on.

The mains cable when plugged in allows the reset button to trip, so power is going in.

The battery charger buzzes briefly when switched on.

Any ideas, or things we might be able to try?

TIA

Hi,

Check the leisure battery has more than 12.5v.

The Pc180 control panel will disconnect itself to attempt to preserve power if it detects less than 12.5v

Try externally charging the leisure battery or replace it.

There is a button press sequence that will override this, to test...and will allow power up for 1 minute.....but I can’t remember what it is.

I’m sure somebody will know tho.

You could have a sticky relay if you have these fitted (usually found in pairs). They also have two fuses inside each.

Must have been a hell of a debt ......

i assume you got it at a rock bottom price? you might get a good return on it if you sort out all the jobs or even sell on as it is (ps. no i am not looking to buy it!)

We had somthing that sounds similar.
so worth a try.
it was a fuse in the relay that chausson seem to put between the control panel and batteries(and maybe the EHU as well)
ours , in a 510 , are in 2 seperate small square boxes in the locker just behind the driver seat.
there are fuses in them. One of ours had blown causing the problem.
so worh checking them and replacing them.
really easy to do, just 4 screws to undue on each box and fuses are easy to see.

of course Disconect all Electric before doing this.

good luck,

Ditto AXO66. If you have a black plastic cover in the middle of the step up into the cab the fuses are under there. Take off the plastic cover and remove the plywood infill and the relays will be there.

The fuses blowing is apparently a common problem.

According to the manual,
It actually disconnects the control panel at 10v and the power button should still temporarily restore power.

I’m sure I have read somewhere there is a sequence to resupply power after a flat leisure battery.
Have you checked the 240v charger is turned on with the button on the front of the black unit?
Has the leisure battery got any sign of voltage?

Am I right in thinking that if the leisure battery is disconnected, or completely flat, the control panel won't work, even on EHU?

I know nothing about your make of van. But if your cab battery is too flat your battery charger will not charge it, you need to put some jump lead from a doner vehicle put some charge in it. Don’t try to start it. Before using the charger. I had this problem, and using about method sorted it out. Good luck

Just looked back at my original post Cab Battery Flat. #22 worth a read all the way through some good info from the wise ones on here.

Power on in MCB, charger on.

Pc180 control panel won't spring into life even on EHU.

Leisure battery is knackered I think, won't take a charge. Also can't get the thing out from under the seat, looks like seat off to replace.

I'll be glad when we can get out in the Hymer again and leave this piece of s*** on the drive! ??

The seat will have to come out to get to the battery.

Just try putting a set of jumper leads across from the cab battery....under the floor (another pain in the a*s* ) to the hab battery and then try to power up the control panel.

Did you look to see if you had any of the Boite Relais Securite relays in the gray boxes fitted?

One of those connects the battery’s together for charging. The other is used when the PC-180 is switched on, it will have a normal blade 5a fuse in and a big 50a fuse inside...check them too.

Ford or Fiat.

on our Ford based 510 I have to turn the battery horizontal to ease out from under the seat.
(depends on size of your battery if course.)

Have you checked the fuses in the relais?
