Converting a Van
Exp
I'm a Total Newbie!
I have purchased a full set of new brackets and sliders for the sliding door of my conversion. It's a 2013 Peugeot Boxer.

As many of you know I've been suffering with the "super computer" in the van mistakenly thinking the back doors are open when they are securely shut / slam locked shut and therefore forbidding the locking of the cab doors.

THe current sliders don't look to be in a good shape and are missing roller wheels etc. I'm hoping fitting these will help.

Has anyone replaced these fittings before and do they have any hints or tips?

Can't help you with the rollers but I did have trouble with the multi contact sensor/connector at the rear of the sliding door last year when it kept causing bleeping.

I had to get a small electrical screwdriver behind the contacts on the door and lift them up slightly to make a better contact. Good Luck!

I did mine on a Transit a while back. Open door & support underneath with a small trolley jack at the front end.Remove top one & replace . remove bottom one & replace . Remove jack & you can then get your hand & 1/4" ratchet in to remove the middle one. If you have no internal cabinetry in the way it is easy from inside with door on first shut position.with the correct size torx on it . which is what they usually are. Undo all bolts & you can slide the assembly backwards & either manipulate it out of the track but failing that remove the plastic end cap & run it out that way. Fit new the same way. Then check the door añignment & if necessary use the jack to lift the door & slacken off the top & bottom to raise to get the swage lines correct.
You can also adjust the top one in & out to ensure decent closing to the rubber seal on a transit
The new wheels will make a huge difference apart from the noise which will still be the same, unfortunately.

Thanks. Big help. 👍

Before removing each runner assembly from door, mark round the brackets with Tipex or similar, plus a few scribe marks across from panel to bracket. This will enable you refit in exactly the same position.
Then one assembly at a time and has been said, support the door, they are heavy, including some nice soft padding.

I was intending to short my contacts out so it thinks the door is always closed. Just not got round to working out which electrical contacts do what yet.

Id love to do this, if I had the knowhow.

That's clever.

Have a look at this. CamperJack
Hope it helps. I got this from a guy called Mike the other year on another forum
Cheers Cris.

I'm sure that will be useful! Thanks!
