Looking at a new (bigger) van, only trouble is it doesn't feel too much bigger because of the massive table made for six diners. But there's only two of us.
Anyone changed their table top. I'm ok with the mechanics of fitting a new top but wonder if anyone has had success at sourcing one and how much they had to pay.
I'd love one of those Hymer types that are smaller and round but can extend when needed. But really anything smaller would do.

Well Andy, that looks really useful for a small side table, and so cheap. In our case we're looking for something about 2'6" across, possibly either extending or folding. I had thought this might be a part from a mh dealer but you've opened up the possibility of something from a furniture type store.

Smiffy's always right. That's exactly the table I'd like, but a tad on the dear side. Maybe one without all the accessories would be better.
Go on then... scare me. How much would a table like that be?!

Here you go Folkranger all types of table tops and leg accessories available in all shapes and colours.
Good luck let me know how you get on, loads of Funsters have bought from these suppliers.

We’ve just bought a new table top from grasshopper leisure.
Good quality, fast service, good prices.
Lots of shapes, sizes and finishes to choose from.

I took out our large table in the Burstner recently. Replaced with a Fiamma tripod stand which fold up and stores away, The one we have now was bought off a fellow funster (y) works ideal for us but i may change the top to a round one later.

These people do some nice fold up tops.. https://www.marineteak.co.uk/

I went on to ebay and searched table top and found a company to make one to my sizes I took the large top off the base and just fitted the smaller one to the base cost about £40 as I remember

If you do not need the table to be part of the bed then it’s very easy to get a piece of quality board and cut it to suit, then rout it for edging. If you haven’t got the tools any kitchen fitter will knock one together for you.

The table that was supplied with our van usually lives in the house in a cupboard and we have a table that folds down and packs away when not in use.

It also means we can use it outside the van if we want to.

If we get a second one we might see if we can adapt it so it can be a "half" table using the unfolded part instead of two legs unless we want the full length table.

That top looks superb and has a similar finish to the new Rapido we're looking at.

I got a circular kitchen table many years ago from a car boot sale costing £3 and just used the top of it, cut to size and put some edging tape on it, since then it's been adapted and used in a few MHs and is currently in my Carthago as the original table top was too big. I have a permanently fitted plastic table cloth on it so it can be easily cleaned and for when we actually use it for eating another plastic table cloth cut to size goes on top. I'd like to reduce the width but as our table has a fixed base with sliding and swivelling top mechanism this dictated the minimum size so I can't alter it any more.

If you want a perfect match for the original though it could prove expensive so a contrasting one would be your best bet - loads on Ebay and Ikea do tops too I believe.

Great post. A £3 table in a carthago. I'm probably hoping that someone will say their local dealer ordered them exactly what they want from the manufacturer's spares catalogue and it didn't cost a fortune...... but that probably won't happen.

Got ours from Ikea -same colour as wood in van . Put it on the supports for the huge one . Would have preferred a round or folding top but at £10.00 ok for now

It just happened to be a nice lightweight but strong table top which I could adapt for our needs, as I cover it with a cloth what it looks like doesn't matter.

We changed our table in the Carthago big round one to a square wooden one we found in a second hand shop £20.took the legs off and used the same
Table support. much easier to use we put round one away ready to put back on when we change van.

We swapped our big table for a small one and it was about 40 nicker.

Ebay (now theres a shock) and jsut searched for "motorhome table" and "caravan table"

Worked a treat for us

On Ebay search for 'table top' and then go into 'Vehicle parts' section ... loads to choose from

We kept the table base/leg and bought a New top to our spec. LAMFORM 01202 892 485 They will send you samples of laminate and indicate what they have spares of so you don’t need the whole sheet. Lots of quite classy looking looks available. Under £60 plus delivery(£25). 30 mm thick. 750 x 530 that size is what worked for us. We are really pleased with it.
