Picking up new Motorhome soon but insurance states must have alarm and tracker, both insurance approved

having a Thatcham Cat 1 Tracker fitted, not a problem but manufacturer (French) state it comes fitted with CAT 1 Alarm and perimeter volume, will this be satisfactory for UK insurance or am I going to have to have another one Thatcham approved fitted
Anyone have experience of this on new A Class Motorhomes ?

thanks

If it comes with a Cat1 the description suggests Thatcham so your insurance should be OK with that, is it possible that the alarm is fitted by the UK importer/distributor.

Make sure the Alarm is listed on the Thatcham site as if not the insurance company won't accept it.

It’s stated as alarm and perimeter volume on spec, the dealer said it’s CAT 1 but as fitted by manufacturer (Le Voyageur) think it’s not going to be acceptable here, which is going to be a pain as it’s stated as compulsory by insurance and means more expense
