Hi to all,
This is something I would like to sort out once and for all before winter!!
On the top left corner, outside, there is a pressure release valve. Now it dribbles, mainly when hot water is on, but has done when it is off too ( but rarely ).
I have replaced it 3 times over the summer thinking maybe faulty valve, but it still dribbles out of the end ( where you would turn it to release the water quickly ).
I spoke to the caravan place where I ordered and explained, he said water pressure to high, so I have turned the water pressure down on the pump. The first half of a turn it seemed to work, only for a couple of days. Since then I have done 3 more half turns of the screw that controls pressure on the pump. Each time seems to work and then starts dribbling again. I don't want to turn pressure down any more.
It is DEFINITELY not leaking anywhere else , not where it sits in the housing, no where, just out of the end which you turn to release water.
Any ideas please ?! (y)

ours does it but just put it down to pressure when the water gets hot, and presumed thats why it has a relief valve .

@arcsystems.biz/ is an expert on Carver Cascade 2 he might be able to help. His contact number is on the web site. Bear in mind tho tiz a bank holiday

Makes you wonder if the temperature sensor is faulty and it's getting too hot.

well it doesnt boil if its on all day so wouldnt think so, but any temperature rise is going to cause expansion , its got to go somewhere , better a dribble through the valve than a burst boiler or pipe,

Boiler could be full of calsiumscale which would also mean the sensor tip is may just be running hotter than the 60° it should.

How often do you guys descale, I do my Truma once a year.

when you say you are turning down the pressure, are you not just adjusting the pump switch off point? to drop the pressure you need an inline restrictor

No there is a pressure adjust screw on the water pump itself.

I suppose it is the pressure of the hot water, it's strange how it doesn't tell you that will happen in the manual!
It's annoying because it leaves a scale mark down the side of the van and it does freeze in the winter ( the dribble ).
Oh and my water heater is taken apart and descaled every year.
Ok maybe that's how it is, thank you to everyone (y)

The temperature sensor on my Cascade 2 is attached to the burner unit and not actually inside the boiler, so wouldn’t be covered in limescale. Of course, the sensor may be faulty and causing the water to get too hot, which would increase pressure.
Is the burner unit a proper Carver one or a crappy Chinese knockoff known as a Henry?
Last year, I fitted a Henry burner and control unit. Load of rubbish, it went faulty after a few months, overheated the water and started to melt the control unit casing causing a burn mark to the floor of the van under the control unit.
The resellers of these Henry units has ignored all my emails about this and if I ever get through on the phone, no one is available to discuss it and I never get a call back.
I had the old Carver unit refurbed and installed it, it works perfectly.

But, even with the Henry unit in, overheating the water, the pressure relief valve never let any water out.

A restrictor reduces flow not pressure. Pump adjustment is pressure adjustment.

so if the relief valve doesnt blow where does the pressure go, strong stuff , steam
