Hi guys, just a quick one, there's a cmc site in castleton near to the peak cavern and we have a gig to go to in May, we aren't members, but can we still book onto a cmc site for a night without membership?
I presume we pay a bit more but that's OK.
Cheers!

Thanks janine, how would I find out if it's members only?
I can't see anything on the booking page on the site.

Dazzola
As an aside
Dont know what sort of gig you going too and very vaguely recalling that in that area there is not much in the way of accommodation (probably totally wrong) but I think site would be fully booked already for a gig only couple months away..👍👍

There's space available on the site, (it's a Heaven 17 gig in the cavern itself) we have an option on a road and there's another site a mile or 2 away, so we can walk!

Not a Heaven 17 fan...... BUT in a cavern... maybe
That will be brilliant.. totally differant to standing in a muddy field.
I have been to a number of gigs/concerts in the St Michaels Cave on Gibralter..
Gawd they blew me away..
Njoy...👍👍👍👍👍

Not sure where the cavern is, but if it’s on the road out to Winnats Pass I believe parking is not prohibited overnight on the old A road that is now closed leading to Mam Tor

It's almost in the centre of Castleton. Speedwell Cavern is the one going up Winnats Pass. The old Mam Tor road ends in a turnround just after the Blue John Cavern. Its a long way out!

is there a site in Europe where you have to be members?
Many years ago I stayed on a site which turned out to be members only, it was very nice. They sold me a temporary membership for a couple of francs no problem and as I was then charged as a member the whole thing was pretty cheap.

If you can get on the castleton site it will be worth joining the club. The CMC sites are a lot more expensive when not a member.

Many years ago we had a holiday in Holland using sites run by members of the Netherlands Club using a reciprocal arrangement for Caravan Club members. Not sure if arrangement still exists. The sites were excellent with volunteer members doing the admin and strict rules on how to clean your shower after use.
