Why I ask is their is a delete button under a sent PM and I am wondering if the receiver has not opened it can you delete it this way?

I don't mean the mail review box but when you open an individual sent mail?

Trouble is i fired one of the other day, thought about it, and wished I hadn't sent it:shout::Blush:

If this is not the case why is the button there?

Hi RR

The answer is in your pm inbox, if you have a pm titled test PM then you cannot delete an unread pm

If however it isnt there, then me deleting it as removed it (highley unlikely, I think it only deletes it from your sentbox)

Jim or Bryan can read your pm's maybe they can delete it for you?

George

I receive your test PM George:Wink:

Ta for the test:Wink:

Looks like we should ask admin to rename submit message button to "Trigger"
Just like a gun when it goes bang theres no turning back:Eeek: but unlike a bullet you can send an apology
Geo
bet your off his christmas card list:Rofl1:

Hi
I believe that with this forum software there is not an option for admin to read peoples Pm's (unlike some other sites......) Apparently there is a legal issue regarding reading other peoples Private Messages, maybe something within the Telecommunications Act?
Anyway I do not think that Admin have the ability to read Pm's so maybe one needs to be mindful about what one sends :Eeek::Eeek::Eeek: As there is only one way out of the hole that has been dug.......

Keith

Hi Keith

It would be very unusual for Admins not to be able to read private messages, I have never seen any forum software that doesnt include that capability.

George

EDIT Inaccurate my mistake see following post's by Jim and myself.

Vbulletin Software does not give admin the ability to read private messages or see private passwords. That said, I am sure third party hacks exist that will enable us to locate this information should we be so inclined, it has to be in the database somewhere! Most forum software is free opensource stuff. Vbulletin is paid for software from a reputable US company (Jelsoft) They do not provide the facility to read your private messages.

Damn, you beat me to it, I was just coming back to say I have looked at my Admin control panel ('s) and its emails (from forum) that can be read....

I have never read any till just.... and only I read one from myself just to check.

Apologies for getting it wrong way round.

You should know better than that John.. ask on a forum "what time is it" and you'll get a dozen replies without every finding out the time.. in fact it will probably drift onto A frames or HGV licenses and you still won't know the time ... :Rofl1::Rofl1:

Anyone know what the time is?
