Hi there. Could anyone recommend some good campsites on the Cantabrian coast please? We are a group of six with two motorhomes and a caravan. Like good quality sites, not too large, preferably within easy reach of a town. Nearby family friendly cycle routes also a bonus.

Any recommendations gratefully received.

Thanks - Tim

It would depend on when you are planning to go, lots of the coastal sites only open in the summer.

Playa Joyel at Noja if you want a beach.

Camping La Viorna at Potes if you want to get into the Picos, the road up from the coast was undergoing some major reconstruction last September but worth the effort, I think they open on the 1st April

I would also recommend both of these sites. Both good. The Potes site - the pitches can be a bit tight and the drive through the mountains will get your attention.

If you dont mind a bit of free camping - I suspect no one will complain about the caravan. Visit Cabarceno.

The aire is just by the entrance to the park.
