Can I take my Motorhome and pick up my new Motorhome from dealer, who is out of area, in lockdown?

He cant open for retail sales can he
So I think you would both be in breech of covid regulations ie non essential travel

Pre booked Click and collect allowed.

However, some won’t even do that.

As above, click and collect is allowed. My son is a car salesman and that is what they have been doing during the current lockdown.

My son is collecting a vehicle tomorrow.

Showroom not open, appointment time and Covid protocols to follow.

The dealer we purchased our van off is not open for any reason. They reply to emails that’s it.

All the car dealerships around us are open for servicing / mot’s and ‘Click and Collect’ for vehicles. You can’t go and browse their stock and you can’t do test drives.

We bought a car from a dealer and they insisted on delivering. No collection.

Guess a lot of interpretation in a lot of industries. including camp sites.

It’s down to the dealer if they want to offer the C&C service. If they want to do click and collect then they’re not doing anything wrong. (y)

A 600 miles round trip might be stretching the situation though.

Same boat, we have CnC booked for 29th. Not thinking of bringing the date forward as it will still have to sit on the drive as we won't be able to use it, unless it's a stop at home sleep over.

If you Read the Gov.uk site, leaving aside" exercise" nothing is classed as an essential journey except food shopping, booked medical appointment Or travel to work & home.

But. Can the dealer deliver? Car dealers do. Is that essential?

It would appear from a layman's point that non essential shopping is acceptable. Lots appear to be doing it. So collecting a MoHo should fall under that by all accounts.

Them deliver to you would be far more agreeable to the conscientious.

This is what's confusing me (easy done). Supposed to be only essential shopping. Yet how many times on here do we read of people going shopping for stuff that is obviously NOT essential???
There must be something in a Garden center for instance that's "Essential" but i cannot think of anything, just using GCs as an eg.
The big stores are open for bizz yet the small shops are not allowed.........it's f-----d up good and proper.
Stock up when this lockdown is over for as sure as i have a hole in my bum there will be another along soon after due to people just NOT being bothered.
