Since 2016 and caravanning before that
After we lost the closer of the two Jack Russells in our avatar we rehomed two Beagles. We know very little about them other than that they were in kennels for a year. We've had them since August and it's a slow process training them. Being the breed they are we won't let them off a lead in the open. We've just spent a few days at a site with a secure dog exercise area and it was a joy to watch them running.

So awesome Knowledge Collective, does anyone know of a resource for finding similar sites or have you any recommendations?

Thanks

The Knowledge Collective is excellent

Hi.
Plymouth Sound CaMC club site. fenced off Dog/Growler area. NO toilet block. We can manage without that. Pitches are angled so most get a view of the sound. M/homes are politely requested ( YER' BARRED !! :ROFLMAO: ) From parking on the front two ? rows,as it slopes steeply and recovery wrecks those pitches. We can manage that. ( NOT parking there.) Pub/restaurant-Local shop-morning papers a little walk into the village. " Jennycliffe " Beach/parking ,cafe restaurant . A five minute drive at most from the site. Enjoy.
Tea Bag.

Old Oaks, Glastonbury, also dog shower etc. with warm water and shampoo suppplied!

Another vote for The Old Oaks at Glastonbury, 2 dog exercise fields, the new large one has a doggy pool and the next door smaller one has doggy shower with hot water and shampoo, once you have been here you won’t want to go anywhere else, fantastic site.

If you are going to highlands then watch the wind ;) (especially on the grass pitches)

The Gables CaMC CL a few miles outside Ashbourne in Derbyshire has a big fenced dog exercising paddock running the length of the site.

Never been out of main season - always been lovely & sunny for July Fun Meets :sun:

Harbury Fields Farm Caravan Park (Leamington Spa) has a good fenced-in field too…. (y)

We have 2 Golden Retrievers and I have a website which gives information on sites we have visited as well as walks and dog friendly cafes etc - obviously not very comprehensive and mainly focused on the South West but when I review a site I do it from the viewpoint of wanting to be able to exercise the dogs in a secure field. www.goldiesontour.com

You lot are great

I guess youve been very lucky then .
It is an idyllic location but still gets wind in peak season and this is when more people are caught out by it.
We used to live there and have seen the destruction caused by the winds (even in peak season)please watch out for it in the forecast.
P.S. Highlands have a 2 dog max per pitch rule . ;)

Norfolk, Centre Paws at Barnards Farm, Wymondham. Camping field attached to a dog orientated group of small businesses, have a large secure field specifically for dog exercising. Wonderful dog friendly cafe on site doing snacks, meals and drinks for dogs and their humans. Hookup available, toilets and showers on site.

Red Kites Touring park in Mid Wales. Really proved its worth when exercising Harvey our Dalmatian (see avatar). an RAF jet flew over breaking the sound barrier with a bang. Frightened Harvey who would have bolted out of the site, but we were in the dog area and I was able to get him back on the lead.
You've asked a great question, I can see this thread running and running, also ideal for future reference.

Also worth searching in an area you're thinking of visiting for dog runs. Where I stay there are a couple of largeish country ones within 20 minutes from my house and a smaller one in some ground adjacent to a cafe in town.

What a great site and just what I need. I am a solo traveler with my greyhound who loves the beach.

Bramble Barn, Redbrook Maelor, Whitchurch SY13 3AD has a huge paddock where dogs can run free, I go there and let mine run. They also have toilet emptying facility and fresh water. £10 per night and Hook Up if required £3.
I notice this is an old post but the information might be useful for someone!

The Old Forge just outside Banbury has individually fenced off pitches that are dog proof. We used it prior to our visit to Cropredy.
