We are touring around france and heading for the Dordogne. Any recommendations for sites that are close to good places to visit but with some facilities to keep teenagers amused (a pool a must!). Thanks

Camping Le Paradis st St Leon sur Vezere. Celebrated its 50th anniversary not long before COVID struck! IIRC it has 3 pools, sauna, jacuzzi, electric car hire, bike hire, canoe/kayaking trips, a football pitch, organic soft fruits and veg that you can help yourself to [in moderation!] and a massive commitment to eco living, generating most of its own energy.

We were last there 5 summers ago, in high season, and paid about €30 per night for 2 adults + trailer tent, so not cheap, but beautifully set up and managed. You can also walk to La Roque Saint Christophe, the nearest of the prehistoric settlements from the site.

We stayed at the CCP Aire HERE it is attached to a site and you can use the pool etc. but not facilities, you could also just stay at the site. Canoe hire available plus lots of sightseeing but we move around so only do 1 or 2 nights in 1 place.

As marchie has suggested, Camping Le Paradis in St-Léon-sur-Vézère is a large and highly equipped site. Pools, restaurant, shop, equipment hire, electric cars to hire etc. It is kept immaculate and the pools always look inviting. Not a site if you want a quiet few days!
The nearest large town is Montignac.

Nice site at confluence of Dordogne and Vezere.

You will have a fabulous time, well worth the pain on the credit card bill! I managed to blow Number 1 injector whilst onsite. The local Peugeot Agent wouldn't guarantee the work without changing the entire set and running diagnostics etc etc. That added €1,342 and a few cents to the holiday bill! First time I'd ever contemplated Crowd Funding

We stayed at that CCP the other night and it was great. Took a canoe down the Dordogne for a few hours, had a swim in the pool, and a really good meal at The Fat Pig in the pretty village of Le Roque-Gageac about 500m away.
