Campra is striding ahead with their campaign, more and more aires getting permission on a regular basis. County Durham announced today.
To those of us that prefer the Aire style camping it’s great news.
They are now trying to include waste and water points and are looking for donations to enable this. If anyone would like to contribute I have put a link above.

Don't understand this ,I thought they were just campaigning for others to set up Aires, local councils and things, are they now opening their own like camping carparks in France who they are thowing in with?

This is what they’re trying to do

We are now setting up a fund to allow us to offer financial support, primarily to communities and charities who want to set up a waste point but need financial support to get started.

They are encouraging people and organisations to open aires but often those organisations, especially when they are charities or small communities, don’t have funds to put in waste facilities.
They want to help fund some of those.
It seems they are really making inroads in what many of us always thought would be an impossible task.
More power to their elbow, we may yet see a good selection of aires in the U.K.

Richard.

Just donated! 26000 members on the Campra group and not really that much donated so far, even a £ or 2 would help.
how did you find out what has been donated as could not find anything when I logged into the website is there a link?

I think it is a great idea and happy to donate - just wondering where on their site you can see a list of the aires now open (preferably also on a map) so progress can be seen or are they just being added to search for sites?

It’s on the Campra FB page

@ceejayt listed on SFS as Campra approved aires.

Hopefully they will make them ground level rather than the raised off the ground one they show on their web page.

All the CAMpRA sites are on Search for Sites/Advanced Search "Pricing and Partners" section - select the CAMpRA button. There are 50 sites listed so far.

They usually have a drive over for grey waste but not for black and I think you will find that is the standard type of installation shown🤔

Hey Ho, hopefully they have a manhole as well or the grey connected to the same pipe as the elsan;)

C'mon funsters , you might benefit from one of these one day. All around the UK.
Too true Sandra - the momentum is there to really get aires off the ground in UK, if we all get behind them and support in any way we can

Really hope as many in the community can get behind this as much as possible. Imagine the difference it will make! I think CAMpRA are doing an amazing job at highlighting what's needed.

Where do we find the accounts please, until I am aware of operating costs and stipends paid, it's not a contribution I will make blindly.

You might not get to use it though Jon as the standard design seems to be an above ground box for dumping cassettes.
Agreed but its still a good cause Martin.

I imagine it will evolve like other countries where certain places are easier than others, and luckily those of us with larger tanks are able to last longer than those with cassettes.

With 20 years of using Marine tanks; above ground dumping was never an issue as we alway carried a small fiamma tote. Gravity dumping is the best, but if we were ever stuck, we could easily and cleanly, just peel a few gallons off and dump it like any other cassette user.

For sure Jon, but it just seems a little short sighted or even ironic that these people should get the design wrong or possibly every one has a manhole in front and then it would be perfect(y) I might just chuck a £ in the kitty;) just in case.

For sure we will never be stuck Jim but as you say a hole in the ground is just so much easier and cleaner.

It's a limited company. Reg 13405866. Recently incorporated so no filings yet.
