This is a great Municipal site, on the banks of the Loir river.. Chateaudun.

There is also an aire by the canoe station in the town, under the walls of the Chateau,

ideal for visiting the town and Chateau or if you want to hire a canoe but I found it busy and not where we wanted to spend the night.. so we moved to the Municipal site.. about 1km away..

Almost empty, fantastic clean free showers, friendly staff and all for €8 per night.. EHU extra €3 which we didn't have., (no need with solar) ..

If you have a canoe or kayak you can launch it from the site .. we wished we had ours with us..
Charlotte hired one for 4 hours at €12..

this is one of the best municipal sites we have used.. 9/10

just a few photos of the site.. more of Chateudun in my albums Broken Link Removed

Stayed in town aire last october, very busy , first time we had spoke to english campers in weeks, good luck to all taking the steps.
Found municipal site on way out of town, wished we,d stayed there.

good luck to all taking the steps.

indeed.. a bit of a climb when it's 30c in the shade  .. there is also a footpath that zig zags up.. .. but it's still a climb ..

Have used the town aire several times on our transit trips to Spain/Morocco as it's nicely placed for our route. Didn't realise there was a municipal too, but unfortunately it appears to be closed in winter.
