Camping club torchlight festival

Sounds good . Do you have a link to the information please ?

It used to be called the Festival of Lanterns and was lower key and much much cheaper lots of members unhappy with the new pricing.

How much!!

but then again, I suppose it is cheap for a weekend in August with up to 4 children but not to a single OAP!

I’d been wondering about this too…. Has any one been before?

I ahve been once but it was during the time of the old format. They can be entertaining but in my view the Warners shows are better value.

Looks like a good weekend some good acts , Simon Meadwell, sorry I have not answered you question either paid more for a lot less ;)

The only thing that matters as to wether it is good or not is that you think it is good value

Shame it clashes with Malvern

In the modern scheme of things for festival type events the overall pricing is in line with the market and, if you were to be attending as a family probably very competitive at £199 for 2 adults plus kids including the entertainment and pitch. For the singles (especially if you were to drag along a couple of kids) £149 for the three nights is actually quite good. Of course it all depends on the overall quality of the acts that appear, and whether you are then ripped off by pricing of other stuff like food.

For us with motorhomes many such like festivals can want and additional £60 and often a lot more for the MH spot on top of the standard camping + entertainment.

But it is more than I want to pay and I'll stick with some of the funster rallies.

Anybody been to one. Are they anygood this years music line up is quite good and seems reasonably priced .
We have recently returned from Torchlight 2022. I gather it was the first event of this size & nature to be hosted by Caravan & Camping club. Generally speaking we were very impressed. It was certainly a friendly festival in line with the clubs ethos. The bands were really good quality particularly for us, Squeeze & Gabrielle. What came across really well was the pleasure the band members got from playing there & led to a great atmosphere. I can't comment on the other activities onsite as we didn't indulge this year but there were plenty of activities on offer....maybe next year??? Our only small gripe was the lack of effective signage to different areas....& the site maps could benefit from a 'you are here' mark..... we got lost on the Friday night & it took 3 hours to find our caravan as we hadn't got our bearings yet....there was no one to ask either...But overall...a brilliant event & looking forward to next one xx

No.. CCC has been holding this festival for many many years, albeit under a different name and format.
Used to be called National Feast of the Lanterns.

I believe it was the largest on this scale much bigger and with more activities and acts than the previous Lantern Festival.
All the main stage acts were of excellent quality, atmosphere was brilliant and variety of tastes catered for was terrific too. One of the acts located around the campfire, The Old Time Sailors performing sea shanties was magnificent, very interactive, appealed to all age groups, high energy, their performance lasted over 2 hours and the variety of musical instruments played were second to none, so visually appealing too. Hopefully the CCC will rebook them for future festivals. The price was completely justified compared to other purely music festivals. I agree that if a single or couple campers the price paid would be subsidising effectively the up to 4 children free offer and all the children's rides that were provided for them but taking even that into consideration it contributed to the relaxed friendly vibe of the festival. I would say it was a highly successful event for the CCC.
