Good afternoon Funsters,
And a Happy New Year to all.

I'm hoping to collect my first MH in the next few days.
The only reason I'm able to afford it is because the electric charger thingy (entry level knowledge) isn't working.

My son is a industrial electrician, at an auto electrics factory, and is coming home to sort it out, hopefully.

The Calira unit is unfixable, has anyone any experience of replacing one of these? It would be great to show useful offspring.
I've tried searching the archives but I don'really know what I'm looking for.

Many thanks in advance,
Ceri

& yes, I read Jim's fantastic book about MH buying, twice. Bought a damp meter and a polarity plug... then fell in love as soon as I saw her and fudged all his guidelines

Hi Ceri
It might be worth contacting A anN Caravans Services. Looking on the web they used to repair Calira units but I see that these are no longer made so they may have some advice about alternatives. I have never had cause to use them but they do have a good reputation. It might be worth getting your son to speak to them if he is the technical one!
I'm not an expert but there are some on MHF who are very knowledgeable so keep asking!

Thanks paddymcc, I'm always grateful for trusted contacts.
I've only been at this for 5 minutes and I've already met some wrong 'uns. Thankfully I've met a load of lovely people too.

Thanks rb62, I'm passing all techno information to electric son.... then supply tea and biscuits. I know my limits :)

Tea and biscuits are an engineering function requirement.

How is that, regardless of actual age, when they come home to mum the kids can't get out of bed by midday #kettleson
