Hi all,
I'm at the stage in my build where I need to buy my leisure batteries so I can size up the compartment and test some circuits, but I don't see me finishing my build for at least 6 months, is it ok to just leave them not hooked up during this time, I don't want to shorten the life unnecessarily.

I planned on a 6 month build but it took me nearly a year to build my camper-van. I was glad I used a Bench Power Supply when building it (not expensive and useful). Plug it into a 240v feed and set at whatever you want (say 12.4v add a little over the 12v). It will do what you ask for in your post but will have the bonus of showing the amps being used. You will see exactly what devices consume which is handy to know. Then when you know your electrics are fine buy the batteries and keep your full 12 (or whatever) month guarantee intact.
