Being a retired couple and in these very difficult and trying times you do the best you can so we went online went to Amazon and ordered a number of things as follows one cup tea bags dishwasher tablets washing liquid capsules Lotus Biscoff walker's ready salted crisps But we ordered a Crawfords teatime assorted biscuits didn't take a lot of notice of the 275 g £13.85 a big mistake you can buy those biscuits for as little as £1.39 we contacted the company and the reply was unable to provide a refund as the price is displayed on Amazon before you purchased it ( which is correct ) we have now wrote back to the company and pointed out that really is taking the biscuit and not only that their competitor which is eBay are selling 20 number packets of 275 g for £27.99 which equates to £1.39 for a packet of 275 g this is a little more than just taking the biscuit and pointed out that these difficult times people would put that down as sharp practice The company is shoplet-UK please be aware do take care of yourselves clearly there's people out there that are looking out for themselves and to make money sleep tight all the best PS all the other items were fine but there's always one

Inform trading standards. They may not help but at least their name will be logged as scumbags

I agree with rosalan. As others have said, return them for a full refund if the seller is being obstreperous.

If you make an order and then decide against it you can cancel the order if done immediately.

What would we do without the collective knowledge of Funsters. (y)

Happens all the time on Amazon - eg leading up to Christmas, price of toys just goes through the roof. I bought grandson a Postman Pat toy few years ago at Christmas, thought as it was double/triple the price of the stores (which had sold out to be fair) it would be an ultra special one. But it wasn't just - an ultra special price.
Last November Lego advent calendars were truly astronomical prices.
Market forces...

If you contact Amazon not the supplier they will give you a prepaid postage label for returns and will credit you once the supplier receives the item back. Just make sure you get a certificate of posting in case the supplier denies receiving the item then you can claim off the Royal Mail.

I went to the Post Office a couple of days ago to post something for our Granddaughter.

Whilst waiting to be served I noticed that there was a notice basically stating that only FOODSTUFFS could be posted. (Why foodstuffs I couldn't say)

The usual "What does the parcel contain" conversation ensued and I replied, correctly "Foodstuffs" (It was a box of Creme Eggs!!!) I was going to say "Consumables"

I suppose what I am saying is that when the OP goes to the PO. she should keep the conversation to the basics and not go into the specifics.

When it comes to the crunch
Amazon are there to enforce your rights and you have the right to return the item unless you've started dunking them in your tea
