Evening my van TV powered by 12v has died.

Earlier this evening the with was struggling with the German style 12v socket thingmebob.
I had a look and it had pushed th pushed the tabs onto outer case shorting it and blowing fuse on ebox. So I sorted fuse sorted socket but TV won't power up.
You think it's died? Or maybe fused inside?

The TV has no markings it's fitted to a bracket that goes into a overhead locker.

Going to be a bugger sorting something that fits any ideas?

Thanks for any help ideas in advance.

There called Hela sockets. Try something else or check with a meter, sometimes if you short them out the positive terminal melts in the socket

Is it possible the TV could have a fuse inside?
What if I got negative positive round wrong way.
I don't watch TV my self but don't fancy chatting to the missus 🤣

Yes, it is possible, if it fused & you connected it the wrong way round it would blow but could still do damage, fuses are slow compared to electronics. If not fused they sometimes fit a diode across the supply so if connected the wrong way it will blow a fuse in the supply, or a diode in series if the latter it just won't work with the supply the wrong way round. If no protection it will blow up the power supply

Mines direct wire from socket to TV.
In simple terms how can I check my positive and negative correct?
I believe I put it back as was but I'm doubting now.

Or I just may buy a new TV 🤦‍♂️
