Thanks

Maybe a poor choice of words but according to the news they could 'go under'.

I'd only pay Brittany or anything else travel connected by credit card........

Is there any other way? and I'm not being challenging.

Just pay by Credit Card, rather than Debit or pre-loaded.

BF have 3 new charter ships on the way from Stena. But lets see what happens.

I do think the UK Government... well, I will leave it at that.

Adjusting to the New Normal and a Different Future, a message from our CEO
Dear All,
As I write confusion surrounds quarantine measures once again, this time in relation to travellers from Portugal. While Wales and Scotland have reinstated measures, England and Northern Ireland have yet to do so.
Of course, this sort of uncertainty is nothing new. But uncertainty is the enemy of businesses, as much as it is a huge problem for the public. We have no control over this situation and it underscores the need for businesses to react swiftly – and decisively - to the many tumultuous twists and turns presented by Covid 19.
Through prudent financial control, focused effort, and the support of our shareholders (largely the Brittany and Normandy farming community), we’ve already started to implement a five-year recovery plan to secure our long-term future.
The current consolidation of sailings is an important element of this. While it is, of course, not what we want to do, it demonstrates our ability to react swiftly and decisively. The changes are absolutely necessary for our survival and there’s clearly considerable understanding and compassion for our plight among our many loyal passengers. Thank you.
Our support network in France extends well beyond the ports in which we operate. Many of you will know that Brittany Ferries has never been a faceless corporation. We’ve been a social enterprise since before the phrase was first coined; always mindful of our obligations to our communities and regions, as well as our customers. Again, we have our shareholders and the regions we serve to thank for their support during this crisis, as well as the crises we have overcome in the past.
We’re rightfully proud of our humble roots in the fields of Brittany. Thanks to the will and determination of our founders, we have grown into a flourishing network connecting regions and communities in the UK and Ireland to France and Spain – supporting businesses and boosting the local economies wherever we operate. At times like this, the extended Brittany Ferries family represents a formidable force, fighting together for our future.
Moving into a post Covid era, it’s clear from travel industry reports that many people are seeking holidays that do not involve flying and the physical constraints that this can present. Our own figures suggest many of you are desperate to travel in 2021 and I believe we represent an excellent choice for those looking to stay safe but still explore.
Travelling in your own bubble, with your own car and cabin, will in itself be reassuring to many. Coupled to the many life-affirming qualities of travel by sea – fresh air throughout, bracing sea airs, plenty of space and a very warm welcome – we already have a great solution to your travel questions.
If you factor in our beautiful destinations, whether they be the wild Galician coasts, secluded Breton coves, rolling hills of Cantabria or the green coastlines of Ireland and Cornwall, they add up to a memorable, secure travel experience.
If that weren’t enough, we’re also working on some new and exciting holiday products that we can’t wait to share.
The indicators for 2021 are promising. Forward reservations are up, even accounting for the many displaced reservations for this year. We just need to get through the hurdle of 2020 and the start of 2021 as nimbly and cost effectively as we can.
From there we can tackle a brighter, long-term future proud of our heritage, mindful of our long-held values and determined to sail forward into a future that you will be part of.
Take care and thank you for your support.
Yours
Christophe Mathieu
