Ok think my bonded windscreen is leaking so need to reseal on A class gonna rip off exterior rubber trim clean and reseal windscreen and buy new exterior trim to finish off - silicon degrades bonding on bonded windscreens - anyone used the bostic which is pu and is it any good

How long has it been fitted, we have just had a new one in our car, and it's covered for 2 years if it leaks. Bob.

Dunno but it suddenly just had a couple of drips this year in europe home now but did temp repair with tape and getting no condensation on inside of windscreen now either - so my bonded screen is not watertight - the bostic seems the best option provided i clean surfaces

Sikaflex 291 is a marine adhesive sealant I have used and it is very effective.
Note it is an adhesive sealant as per a sealant only and is very tough.
Sometimes this is what you need.

Have a look at all Sika products , you might find a more suitable one.

I would pop into a windscreen place and ask, they might just do it for you. Bob.

Funnily enough a few months back we had a leak in the windscreen on our coachbuilt and a windscreen guy was replacing the screen on a car across the road. Wandered over and had a blether with him and he said he'd have a look but as motorhome was in storage he gave me a "sausage" of the stuff he was using. Sourced the point of ingress and managed to fix it using the stuff!:) Can't remember the name of the stuff but was something I hadn't heard of. Googled it and got a great write up.(y)

Did ring windscreen place but they said no guarantee with a reseal attempt if it still leaked - they could remove screen a refit but if it breaks during removal then it is my problem - if it was van based ducato new screen is only £150 fitted but it's not - comes down to how long is a piece of string with price - will compare the sika to bostic and weigh up which is better option considering bonded screens are basically cemented in - did consider captain tolleys but not sure so decided against that option
Windscreen place suggested sika 224 but it only says cement adhesive on data sheet

If it's not a bad leak how about that creeping crack cure, if water gets in that will. :D Bob.

Be careful with Captain Tolley's (creeping crack cure).
It's very thin and can run out all over the place. Once it cures it's impossible to remove. Eg. On paintwork.
But it's effective for small leaks where you don't know where it is.
It is not a 'gap filler' though.

That is probably captain tolleys creeping crack cure but not sure it will work on bonded windscreen - silicon would of been best option but it degrades the bonding on the screen - options are limited short of removing screen and refitting but if screen breaks it will be silly money - the bostic seems a reasonable option but hoping that someone may of tried it already

Captain Tolley's Creeping crack cure will, according to the blurb, seal cracks up to 0.8mm which when you think about it is quite a large gap!

Used it successfully to sort out an issue on our A class screen. I think the trick is to apply it multiple times and when the screen is bone dry.

Ok thanks for replies think i will try the tigerseal as it is a flexible pu sealant as Landy Andy suggested - Also easily available on offer at moment £6.04 a tube

Methinks that windscreen needs a gentle tap with a lump hammer. :sneaky::whistle::devil:

Yeah right - certainly not gonna be off the shelf and easily obtainable - i'll seal best i can with gorilla sealant/adhesive and see how it goes - doesn't look pretty but the gaffer tape i put on has eliminated the condensation i was getting and the drip which only started this year - but it is dry inside now - just want to seal and tidy it up now

Tiger seal I use nothing but that and had no problems with anything I have stuck with it
