Border Insurance ??

After my recent posting, I was asked if we have insurance for Albania and I said I will check.
It turns out the insurance company (Aviva) aren't playing ball, with not only Albania but also Montenego and Morroco. They advised we get it at each border we go through.
Perhaps somebody hopefully could throw more light on this for us, PLEASE

A lot of companies exclude cover in perceived high risk countries. If you do buy insurance at the borders be careful as it's only usually basic third party liability cover.

Used to go to Cyprus for work and on a few occasions we went to Turkish north. We had to buy insurance at the border, however, I'm not sure how we would have got on if we'd had to make a claim.
