I booked le shuttle the other day for the first time but never having done it before do I get any kind of a ticket or documentation to take with me? All I have so far is the confirmation email from them but in this age of computers is that the lot?

Many thanks,

Bob

No ticket required
Just enter your booking ref when you arrive at the terminal
You’ll also need the credit card you used for the original booking

If you're lucky the number plate recognition will work and you won't even have to do that! Just follow the on-screen instructions.

Works about 50% of the time for us.

No ticket at time of booking. When you get to the barrier at the tunnel, just stick in card used for booking and up pops the constructions and stuff gets printed out. Easy peezy. Never had any problems. :gum:

I don't think one time in 10 have I needed the card, however we usually go to a manned booth if possible because we're usually early and want to see if we can an earlier train (at no additional cost of course). You can be offered an earlier one on the automatic thingys but we usually find manual is more generous.

We’ve used the tunnel half a dozen times and the number plate recognition has worked every time so far, including the latest time with French plates. Haven’t needed to insert a card. Just our experience...

Just take that print out and the credit card you used.
It's very likely you will be recognised by your number plate and its then likely to give you a few options for train travel times - Free and extra cost.
Simply choose a time and take the letter ticket from the machine that you hang from your mirror. Look for the train/time letter on the illuminated boards - park up if you are early and follow the signs to the trains when your letter is called.
