I've removed my fridge, measured the gas pipe, 10mm. Went to get a 10mm compression blank to cap it off and too big...what am I doing wrong ???

Is your pipe plastic covered. ?

Vans I’ve played with are 10mm from reg to distribution manifold then 8mm to each appliance

My understanding (and I’m not a registered gas person!) is that in the uk gas and water pipes are sized on the internal diameter, so your gas pipe is most likely 8mm pipe
Your stop end is for 10mm internal diameter pipe with an outside diameter of about 12mm, so won’t fit your 8mm pipe!

Copper pipe is external size

That may be so but this is a German van .......do they measure the same?

If it’s any help our Dethleffs is plastic coated and 8 mm throughout

In the past LPG pipes were imperial, if it's an older vav, it's possible the pipe may be 3/8 inch. All measurements at OD
