We stayed at Camping Belchenblick at Staufen , when checking in they gave us a transport pass for the Black Forest area on trains and buses with stations a comfortable walk from the site, bar and cafe on site.
IF you prefer a bit of countryside and stellplatz camping, try AltGlasHutten. I recall it being €6 pn and that included train pass for the line which runs right in front of you with the station (and restaurant) at the end of the parking lot.
Or if you drive to Schluchsee you can overnight for free at the southern end of the lake, right by the water in an old train yard. There is also parking in the centre of the village.
Obviously you must visit Triberg, home of the cuckoo clock emporia plus the tallest waterfall in Germany (€2?). Park in the concrete MH spot near the centre of town.
Enjoy - Gordon
PS Freiburg is an Umwelt zone, if you have an older vehicle. I managed to get through with my fingers crossed.
