Bit of advice for travel in Western Sahara

On the way down I had a trouble free trip (apart from road building works - in a few years this road will be awesome, dualled down to El Marsa and not even tolled). I meant to lookup what the 'ensablement' warnings were, but didn't get around to it. However on the way back I hit a few sandstorms, think patchy heavy fog visibility with the vehicle taking a sandblasting. Ensablement refers to sand banks lying on the road btw.

So my advice is check for winds before starting the journey.

I still wonder what happened to the cycle tourist I saw heading for a bad patch... tough types touring down here.
