Hello, first time to go this March, is the journey from the port to Bonterra possible in one day? If so how long and best route?

It's doable but a long day, probably about 8-9hrs driving, allowing for fuel and breaks.
Bonterra Park check-in is from 5pm, so could work well with a day's travel...

Our preference is route 2 simply because it's so easy (if a little boring).

Thanks, sounds just doable. Is there late arrivals area?
What route planner is your image from?
Thanks, Stephen

AIRE in the town if you arrive late..We never rush though,,always take a couple of days and enjoy the scenery.BUSBY.

The best aire to go to is the one at Grau, just along the coast from Benicasim. It's free and overlooks the sea. The other one is dire, as it's next to some kennels and a college. Visitors to the college park in the aire. We know someone who was broken into there.

I've done it tugging from La Rouletta ??? campsite that is just on the border twixt France and Spain nr' Urrugne.
If I could do it then in an underpowered Citroen then I'm sure it's more than feasible from Bilbao.

Note on the map (above) there is a detour to the West around Zaragoza. That detour will save you time and is worth it. (IMHO)
