I'm a newbie
We will soon be travelling to Austria from Southampton UK. Never toured with a motorhome abroad before. Just got myself the Camperstop Europe Guide to Aires / spellplatz etc and I know a lot of you guys are well acquainted with the Romantic Road and the Alpenstrasse. So my question is, "Push Bikes ?" are they worth taking with us, is there lots of off road cycle tracks we can use on route. We will be camping for a few days on the boarder of Austria and Germany somewhere, not made our minds up where exactly so would appreciate any suggestions you might have for a good scenic base where we could use the bikes or just hike and take in some nice views. Anyone know the law regarding riding a bike off road when you've just finished a good bottle of 14%. (a hypothetical question of course)

Depending on weight of M/H you will need either a vinette or go box if you go on motorway in Austria. And they are very keen on engine euro classes

Yes, take bikes. Some superb scenery and both countries cater for cyclists very well.

As far as the 14% I gues you would be in trouble if you were involved in or caused a collision but I'm sure you are way more sensible than that.

Thanks for the advice about vinette and go box, will have to google both of those but if we do take bikes they will be the folding type and be carried inside the van either in the shower cubical (well protected) or stored above the cab

Definitely take bikes makes getting around very easy and most European countries especially Germany will have a lot of dedicated cycle paths. A good way to check is the put the cycle option on Google Maps which show up as Green lines for the area you want to go.
