Has anyone paid to have a bike rack fitted to their motorhome recently....if so, what’s the going rate? I’m about to take mine I to a local dealer for a quote and want to check that they won’t be ripping me off too much 🙄 I’m looking at having a 2 bike carrier fitted....something like the Thule Elite G2.

Alternatively if anyone knows someone qualified to do it in Wiltshire, feel free to recommend.

Many Thanks,

Kai

Hello Kai,

I have always fitted my own as dealers may not always make a strong enough anchor. Bike racks can place a lot of stress on rear walls.

But bear in mind when getting prices. Anyone fitting a rack correctly may have a big job on their hands. Along with associated risk.

What Might look simple, Can involve a lot of time, tools, sundries and effort.

I assume you've got one of the below models, if so then fitting the bike rack should be very easy and if it were mine I'd do it myself. Try having a good look and 'feel' at the rear panel and see if you can work out where the fixings would go on the existing structure as manufacturers generally build in strengthened points for them nowadays.
