I am trying to find out what is the best unit people are using for internet usage in the UK and Europe. I have a dongle with EE sim which is passable at times but can be very patchy. TIA

You need a roof aerial and a MiFi that has external aerial ports to plug it into.

You may get some confusing answers as a WiFi booster doesn't use a sim card. They are used to pick up a wifi signal from say a campsite wifi and re-transmit it more strongly inside the MH.

For picking up a broadband (mobile phone) signal and generating a wifi signal in the MH which is what you want I think, "best" depends how much you want to spend. A top of the range router will be north of £500 but a MiFi does a similar job and will cost you much less. To improve over your dongle you need an antenna mounted on the roof but you can get antenna which you put in a window which would probably be an improvement over what you have now.

Changing provider might help but I've found EE works well in the UK and the popular bits of mainland Europe. Having a mobile phone on a different network can occasionally be useful if it is getting a much better signal than your main data sim, you just set it as a WiFi hotspot.
