Hi everyone - what is in your basic toolkit for your motorhome and what's the best tool you're glad you had?
Cheers
Steve

Best tool is of course the one you left at home!

Otherwise:
Multimeter
chocblox
screwdrivers
mole grips
handful of fuses/wire/connectors
Small socket set
gaffer tape
aradite (or similar)
regulator & hose with BBQ point adapter
spare water pump

Beer & Wine, fair bit as it evaporates!

All my BEST tools
Bicycle tool box
plus
Assorted screwdrivers
assorted spanners and sockets
hammer
then a box of spare bits that have fallen off and I don't know where from
then a box of stuff I've bought too many of:doh:
then every possible combination of fuses, connectors, wires, and spares not included in other two lots

AND don't forget a Stanley knife and Gaffer Tape

I carry loads of bits hoping I never need them but today I needed to measure part of the van but of coarse I don’t carry a tape measure.
Whilst shopping in Skipton today I spent a whole £3 on a Stanley tape measure. I will leave it in the locker incase its needed again.

I think the trouble is , we all take stuff “ just in case” I do,,,,but you can guarantee, if you left it at home,,,you’d need it.,,we have loads of payload, so I’m not bothered,,but you have to stop somewhere👍

the absolute best tool after my multimeter is a credit card. I can search for any essential part where I need it on my phone. If a needed tool is not in my kit, I can borrow or buy one

All the usual bits and pieces especially a multimeter and a 12v test lamp except that I have made a positive decision to leave out any spanner bigger than 13mm.
If I need 17 or 19mm its time to call the breakdown people!
Saves quite a lot of weight as well

Small pistol type air compressor that actually works on van tyres (used for rear suspension as I’m too tight to get the compressor that comes with air assist) and bike tyres, Karcher window vac plus my dinghy racing toolkit - which includes dry silicone lube, DUCK tape, and all the usual bits and bobs. Spare fuses etc…

Superglue. Cheap bottle from Aldi will do. I have used it so many times on the van including refixing loose furniture edging strip. Decant some from the bottle and use a card or toothpick to put the glue onto a small or difficult area. This saves a blobby mess from the bottle. I even borrow the glue from the van to do jobs in the house!

If I were going touring say nc500

Then small cordless drill?

Silicone sealant or polyurethane sealant.

Extra water container

Multimeter.

Alternative 12v supply as above..

But then I am a self builder!
