The photo shows a silicon sliding door stop, it came with sticky double side tape, but it only last a couple of weeks then it comes off.

Can any one suggest which glue I can use that will stay for ever. I have tried gorrilla glue and superglue but they both gave up, I am sure it’s because it’s silicon sticking to the metal.

If it is silicon I would give up now.
If you can rough up the back quite rough you could try a silicon mastic.
It needs roughing to give the mastic something to stick to.
Only other thing I can think of is to rivet it in place.

I say it’s silicon, it may have been 3d printed !

I’ve got a similar one, I used a dremel to lightly burr both surfaces before I applied epoxy glue. 2yrs in, it’s fine.

Emery cloth would do the same.

I made my own sliding door stop from two short pieces of hacksaw blade, stuck with double sided tape well over a year ago, still stuck fast. I realise yours is not metal but still think quality double sided is the way go.

There are aliminum ones on eBay and one uses epoxy resin, I may invest in one if I Can’t get mine to stay fixed. I could then drill and bolt down.

I needed to have a halfway position for the door when the awning was attached. I played around with various profiles and thickness's. I tried positioning the stop in both the upper and middle roller track. I found anything thicker than a hacksaw blade on the top track was too much resistance. The two pieces are about 60mm long and 45mm apart. Works a treat and cost nothing.

3M VHB tape is amazing stuff. I believe it even sticks to silicon.

Only thing to be aware of is it needs a certain temperature before it cures. It is ideal for outdoor applications and forms a great bond pretty quickly but after 24 hours I have not seen anything better.
