Which are the best (cheap) sim cards to get for roaming in Europe at present?

I've used Popit. It's great that you can 'pause' your account and so on. However, they have now restricted roaming on their standard package and the 'roaming only' package isn't exactly cheap...

How are you getting on with it now you are away? Assuming you are now! Just looking at what to get for our trip in March now we can no longer use IQ Mobile
We've been away 3 weeks and ours working fine. Good 5g signal most places and good speeds.

Using VPN to stream bbc, now, discovery etc.

Brill thanks. I just have to suss the VPN and whether I can get it onto my router now!
We use Nord on the firestick and phones/tablets as router doesn't support it. 2gosoftware it's less than 40 quid for a year.

That's incorrect, I have two Huawei mifi's that are not in their compatible devices list and they work fine, they don't work in home routers but they should work in mifi's. In any case you get two weeks to return the sim if you can't get it to work but you must use the Tesco APN not an O2 one.
Wouldn't work with a net gear 1100 or an mr6150. Even with tesco apn. I guess you might get lucky tho

Beg to differ - currently running a 'promotion' ... 🤷‍♂️
Don't know if it's still running but I got £42 cashback via topcashback last month with a 12month SIM only deal..also got confirmation of no price rises during contract

I should add the Id mobile app insists on a log code sent by text so if you can't see texts on your router you can't access the app

It wouldn't work in my Huawei from motorhome wifi. It did on start up but each time the device went to sleep I'd need to reset it. Lots of phone calls to customer services before they decided it doesn't work in some routers 🤷‍♀️ They did allow me to return it but they still charged me as I'd 'activated' it! Seems my router will only work with data only sims, very frustrating!
