Is it a new site or perhaps a cheap one?or has grumpy or nice staff

Don't think it's new although it looks clean and tidy, so maybe done up a few years ago. Prices are BP prices, to be honest, I did not look as for £4.77 for half a tank, I'm not too fused. The staff were nice; it's a good little stop-off actually with good parking and a selection of coffee and food outlets.
