We were invited to meet some long term friends last week and they said one of there hidden gems was near Preston could we meet there.
The site is in the village of Chipping and what a gem it is. Fantastic views and beautifully lawned with colourful flower beds. The fascilities are unbelievable with full underfloor heating in the immaculate shower/toilet block. Every kind of shower gel, shaving cream and handsoap on display with the washup area having a choice of detergents. They even had a handwash dispenser at the chemical disposal point. It has two motorhome filling points and a waste water point, easy for vans. All pitches are fairly level but a couple will need slight block use.
The owners are Tim and Lynda Gornall who are the perfect hosts. Nothing is a trouble to either of them. A short walk takes you to the village of Chipping with a couple of pubs, butchers , coffee shop and general dealers. The bus is every hour (but changing to 2 hours soon) and goes to Longridge with links to all areas via Preston.
Tim and Lynda are open all year and the best part it is the same price no matter when, £15 for electric and 2 people, take note Caravan Club and other blood suckers.
