Hello fellow forum members,
We spent our last camper season in the beautiful Dolomites! The trip was so successful that I decided to try my hand at writing my first post to share it with you.
We packed up our camper and drove to Dolomites! We spent 14 days there, but before I get into that, here are a few photos from the journey itself, which was also wonderful. Our first stop along the way was by the stunning Lake Idro. Personally, I prefer it much more than Lake Garda
.

We also went on a via ferrata overlooking the lake, which I highly recommend. It's very straightforward but offers a beautiful view of the lake itself

Our next stop was the Area Sosta Camper - "Paolo Zaffani". It's located in the beautiful surroundings of Verona and offers free camper spots among olive trees!

Of course, being so close to the city of Romeo and Juliet, we couldn't resist visiting it.

We managed to reach the most beautiful parts of the Dolomites! Our favorite spot in the Dolomites is undoubtedly Passo Fedaia. It's incredibly windy up there, but the view is breathtaking. Due to its high altitude (over 2000 meters above sea level), we had quite a few problems with our Webasto heater on the first night because it kept shutting off. It turned out that at such altitudes, you need to adjust the settings.

Of course, when it comes to the Dolomites, there have to be via ferratas, and this is a paradise with something for everyone. We completed our first via ferrata, but it couldn't be so smooth. Unfortunately, halfway through, we were caught in a storm and a terrible downpour, so we had to quickly evacuate the via ferrata because, as we know, a steel cable isn't the best companion during a storm. So, wet like a drowned rat, we have returned to our van :-/ Descending took us 2 hours in the rain.

Another via ferrata, Giovanni Barbara, was a success! It's definitely my favorite. It's very straightforward, but for me, it's one of a kind because you pass under a waterfall! It definitely has stolen my heart

And the views are simpy amazing

One via ferrata (Oskar Schuster Klettersteig Langkofel) did manage to defeat me. Granted, I had to finish it, but only because the going back would be even worse
The via ferrata was absolutely stunning, but for me, it was too difficult. I prefer having at least a steel cable at all times, but there were sections without any protection. They weren't necessarily difficult, but when I have 200 meters below me, I do get scared

Our last stop was at Lago del Mis, a very beautiful and pleasant place

On the way back, we made a detour to Venice. I hope someone finds something useful in it!
