Just received Motorhoming France news letter this was an article in it :
SPAIN AT 30 km/hr

Whilst some cities in France are limiting the speeds on their urban roads to 30 km/ hr, Spain has become the first country in Europe to introduce a nationwide 30 km/hr limit on all their city roads. This law applies to all their single lane streets (about 80%) & also on two lane roads with a bus lane, with fines of up to €300 for speeding

I wonder what they mean by 'city'? Will it apply to all main roads going through any town and village?

If so then Perhaps it is a move to force traffic onto the motorways, which are gradually being made free as the operating contracts expire,

Let’s hope so I very rarely go through towns or cities anyway but thought it worth posting for these that do🤔

It's 30 in towns here. Also 40 on the roads close to the centre.

I'm never in a rush, so hey ho.

The motorway tolls are coming back by 2024 3p/km for under 3.5t has been suggested. There was a thread on it the other week.

Urban roads....where there is likely to be pedestrians....the slower the speed the increased chance of survival, except if run over by a Steam Roller...😁👍🇪🇦

Definition is not much more specific than 'city'

Are they all going to be signed as '30kph', or is one just meant to know where it applies. If it applies, like in France for 50kph, wherever there is a 'Built-up area' sign then it will apply to all main roads going through villages.
