I'm looking to know what size of fuses I should use in the link cables between my batteries.
These are linked using 25mm gauge welding cable
3 Varta LFD 90 batteries,
Max loads come from microwave via inverter which draws about 130amps ( it has its own 150 mega fuse for it)
Previously I used 60amp fuses....i think.... but should I be using smaller ones??
Also in installation is 60amp b2b charger ( fused with 80amp fuse)
And 400w of solar via a 30amp victron controller fused with 30amp in line trip/fuse.

So what size fuses should I use

Generally it is better not to fuse between the batteries unless they are a long way apart, just between battering and load.

In most cases you protecting the cables from overload. So something a bit less than the cable maximum current carrying.

I thought I had read before it's best to fuse between batteries incase one battery developed a problem and shorted out.

My twin batteries are located one underslung each side seat so well apart. Dave Newell fitted fuses at each end (30amp) to protect the cables and batteries in the event of damage or battery fault.
