On the Hymer B544 we have just purchased the door /mirror is broken as shown on the attached.

I'm worried that it will go completely if I mistime a speed bump or similar. Looks like it should be easy to take out and fit a new piece of mirrored glass but is there anything I should be aware of?

Thanks

Since 2008 & many years tugging
They are fixed with a very strong double sided tape. Unlikely to fall off but the broken edges could rub and could get glass splinters falling off.

Not easy to take off without damage. We had a washroom mirror replaced under warranty in out last Hymer. Hymer told the dealer to fit it over the top of the exsisting mirror due to the high risk of damage when removing.

I had a mirror crack in our Lunar, 1st day of a 3 week trip, spent the next 3 weeks cringing every time we hit a bump. Thankfully it held up though the crack did extend somewhat. Ended up putting some clear heavy duty tape over the crack just in case. The amount of double sided tape used to fix it to wall was more than sufficient to hold it together in the end.
Replaced it with an acrylic mirror, whilst it may not be as perfect a mirror as a glass one it is more than good enough, plus it can't crack like a glass one, can be easily supplied in exactly the size you need, weighs less and was considerably cheaper than trying to get a glass one cut to size. Can't remember exactly where I got it from but there are loads on eBay.
