Despite regular lubricant my 2007 locks are becoming increasingly unreliable, for example, driver door will rarely lock from outside and the rear locker will not lock. Unfortunately, when tryng to repair the locker door, a part of the handle/catch mech has gone missing. I daren't contact Erwin, Brownhills say the barrel locks are £40+each and leisureshop direct dont supply parts such as these. Please does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.

The habitation door lock on our motorhome has been playing up during our recent trip so I have ordered some Abus Lock Spray. From what I have read it’s not as messy as graphite so I thought it was worth a try.

It's been a common thread on forums about Wd40 and locks.
Can't help with clearing them but for future reference as already mentioned use graphite powder.

He did use silicon spray just the brand was WD40 so it shouldn't do too much damage.

I think you can get replacement barrels on eBay for at least some keys, using the code on the key. They claim to be guaranteed - I’ve not used them (yet) so no idea how well they work. Not cheap from memory, but way less than the £40+.

Damn! Is it worth trying to clear it with compressed air? (Spray can type)
Maybe worth taking the van to a locksmith and seeing if they have a way of injecting a solvent such as acetone to clean out the WD40 and then lubricate properly with graphite.

The Abus lock oil I tried seems to have freed off the barrel in our habitation door lock. There was more to the problem than just the barrel but locking and unlocking seems smoother now.
Whilst I have the oil I will lubricate the other locks as a precaution. The only negative is the size of the bottle of oil for the price. Not cheap.

My local locksmith recommends GT85 spray.
