Hi.
We're currently in southern spain and heading home in a week or so. Want to visit barcelona as our nephew is working there doing sea trials on a cruise ship and want to meet up for a meal.

Looking for recommends of either sites or aires where we can safely leave the van. We've got two small dogs with us so not sure how feasible it is to visit the city during the day sightseeing, etc.

Ideas please

We stayed at Camper Contact 24621back in March.
N 41˚21´53˝ E 2˚1´32˝ Free
Large carpark and aire with services by sports ground at Colonia Guell, felt safe and we then got a train into Barcelona. The small town is interesting as it was built by Guell for his workers, rather like Bournville, and there is a Gaudi chapel.

The ticket machine at the station a bit tricky I’m now struggling to remember what we did, but bought 4 single (one each there and back) zone 4, tickets. The tricky bit knowing which zone we were in to start with. But should come out about 3€ per ticket.
There is a tourist information office in the town who can help but nothing at the station except the machine,

If you download this map

You can see the station on the pink line towards the left. Not all trains stop at Colonia Guell but the next station, Sant Vincenç dels Horts is actually closer to walk to carpark and all trains seem to stop there.

I used Villanova Park, google it. Large safe site. You can catch a bus outside the gate which takes you to Barcelona centre. Takes about 50 mins I recall. Someone else on here may give you up to date details.

I believe that dogs are not allowed on buses.

Be very aware! Keep yourself alert, we have been to Barcelona twice and both times we've had attempted break ins.

We visited Barcelona on the train from Cambrills, we stated at a site called LA losa, cost €19 each return from Cambrills. The site cost €22 without electric as we didn't have the ACSI card. €5 cheaper with the card.

There is parking very near the centre of town. It is just a car park with a security guard, you can sleep in your van, there is rubbish disposal and water. It is restricted to 7 meter vans and it is €40 per night. If you Google motorhome city stop Barcelona

The campsite to the west is right under the flight path from the airport. Unless you are very hard of hearing I would avoid it and use the one further up the coast. We did this on our second trip. Courtesy bus to the city centre , if you get a choice of pitch go back from the road and railway line it quieter there. Do visit the Sagrada Familia(Cathedral) amazing interior. Tickets are issued on a time slot from the Campsite. Keep you phones and handbags out of site . We enjoyed he visit and had no bother.
It is a lovely City.

Hi
We are currently at a basic site at Cubelles. It is called Stop and Go Cubelles. Very reasonable, and 10 minutes walk to the train station. It takes 50 minutes to get into Barcelona, although i haven't done it yet. Trains every half hour or so to Barcelona in one direction and Tarragona the other way. Toilets and showers are very clean and the owner is very friendly. It is right by the train line so can be noisy, but they dont run during the night. Visited Villa Nova today on the train. A nice city/town with a huge market.
5 nights is 50 Euro, we have paid for a month at 200 Euro with hook up. Cheap for the area even if we move on after a couple of weeks.

Have you changed your forum name Ann?
Yes. I've changed from The Dude to The Dudess 'cos everybody thought The Dude was a bloke. Although not sure it was a good move as some pronounce it as The Dud-ess, as in
