camping and caravanning since a kid. New to motorhomes
I have a Bailey autograph II, 75-2 which is one of the lower height Bailey chassis from 2017-2019 I believe.

Has anyone put a towbar on to tow a motorbike trailer and if so, are there any issues with possible grounding, especially on ferries and the tunnel. Is it necessary to add rear end air suspension or mot as it’s quite a cost on an alko chassis.

Thanks
Graham

Ask Armitages in Leeds. If it can be done they will have done it. Fitted my Bailey 75-4 last year but it is a ‘normal’ height chassis.

Our 2012 Bailey Approach 620 has a tow bar fitted and there have been no issues grounding when boarding ferries or at other times. As it happens, we are getting a bike carrier fitted to the towball next Wednesday at Armitages.

Thanks. That model year will be a higher riding chassis though.

My neighbours Bailey 79-4 came with a Towbar, it’s always looked very low on the back. He took it to a weighbridge and it was 290kg over on back axle. He removed almost everything from the boot and even if he removes the 50kg Towbar he cannot get down to 2000kg on back axle.

Wow that’s a hell of a problem for him

As you know had a tow bar on our 79-4T
Didn't do all this weight thing.
Towed cars and bikes on trailers perfectly well.
Only issue with the 79 is that it's quite a big overhand so 2 or 3 times in a given circumstance to tow bar did scrape the ground. No harm.

I had a towbar fitted to my Hymer Exsis last week by Mick Parkinson. There was a Bailey Adamo waiting to be fitted after me.
He is based near Preston.Worth giving him a ring 07787 997653.
