I misjudged a turn on Camping Raco and the lamp post caught the lower rail and flattened it for three feet of its length. Impossible to remove or replace easily so I made this today. Introduce it at one of the openings and tap it along, helped by a bit of grease. We used something similar for laying land mines - that's where I got the idea from...

Sounds like youve made a fix. Can we see the damage to better understand your photo please.

Are you sure that it wasn't the lower rail that caught the lamp post:LOL::LOL: A bit like the tree that jumped into the road

Awning rail spreader, plenty on ebay but the for free ones wins, plus the satisfaction of making it.

That looks like the plough from a bar mine layer if I remember rightly John. Its amazing were some of our inspirations for fixes come from.

I made something similar to attach to my slide hammer to sort out the "necked down" ends of our neighbour's aluminium caravan awning poles which had got flattened during their house move.

If I had known they existed and were that cheap, never mind the satisfaction...
