Maurice is a Sunliving S60SP MH and is 6 metres in length. We have a Thule Omnistor 5200 winding awning fitted.
The advice I need is, do we get an enclosed awning as well.
We have brought a Vango Galli 3 Compact yesterday at the NEC. A good deal it was
However we are thinking that this could not be the best one for us. Maurice is 2.3 metres wide and then add 4.2 metres of awning to the side, this could be too big for most C&MH club sites.
We liked the Galli as it is a blow up awning and we will sit in the awning facing the same direction of the MH. We wanted the awning to give us more space for sitting and cooking out and an enclosed one to put Archie our Cockerpoo in during the day/evening
However we think we have made a mistake. We can cancel the order as this early stage.
Do we:
1. Not bother in getting an awning just use the wind up
2. Add a Thule awning to the MH
3. Get a smaller awning, advice needed which model would be good for our needs

Alos do people use enclosed awnings much on their travels? This tear we are concentrating on the uk with a 10 day trip to France

Thanks again as always to all the Funster's for your advice

Fixed awnings are OK if you are going to stay in one place for a good few days. Otherwise they become a real bind taking them up and down. We rarely stay more than 2 or 3 days in one place, so our wind out awning is all we need. And even then we find we rarely use it.

We like the idea that we can stop, put the handbrake on, switch off the engine and then start to relax. And then we usually enjoy sitting outside with a glass of wine or a cup of tea in our hands and watching the caravaner's awning arguments. :ROFLMAO:

Thanks for the advice. You are right about taking them up and down, it does seem alot of effort! I like your comment about watching the awning arguments!:LOL::LOL:, that would be us:giggle:

We have a kela2 tall blow up awning, used mainly when we take the grandchildren away, it is used for sleeping accommodation and also somewhere for them to chill when it is raining. we have taken it abroad with us but tend not to now, just use the roll out Fiamma and a front sheet, although at Mazarron last year we had to add a bed sheet at one end to keep the sun off. if it werent for needing it for the kids would probably get sunblockers with the waterproofing. weigh next to nothing take up hardly any space, but would need to be removed and put away if we wanted to take the van out for the day.
